The one with a baby Liz

Every month Angela makes up the kits and I get a line that will be my challenge (Halloween line this month!) and one that she knows I will love. This line I love....Echo Park's Victoria Garden!

It actually turned out to be my challenge line....not sure I love how it tuned out but I love parts of it. I tried to use a circle frame around the photo and I love how the left side turned out. My green pleated flower turned out super cute (love those glubers!!).

I wanted to use this line for my baby photo even though this line is not a baby line. Sometimes I think its more fun to use what I like more than a specific theme!

Lots of little elements from Crate Paper in the corner.

Today I am heading out to the golf course to practice and play a little bit. Alain went to work this morning so I am just waiting for him to come home!

Hope you have a great weekend :)

The one with some October Afternoon

I can't believe that its almost the end of summer. So sad. But its been a good one and my absence here on the blog has meant that I have been out enjoying whats left of it! Now that all of our weddings are done for the year, I have been playing lots of golf and scrapping too.

My kit this month was amazing (thanks Angela - she's the best!). I love me a good travel line - and this one from October Afternoon is pretty darn great. What makes it so great you ask? Well it can work for any kind of travel (local trips, big cities, road trips...), the colors are great (love the yellow) and you can match a lot of their other lines with it.

I made 2 layout with just 4 sheets of paper (that's a stretch for me!) and a few embellishments!
First up - pictures from my trip to LA. We stayed in Little Tokyo - a really fun area.

The title is my favorite. I used some very old letter stickers, stuck them to my new favorite yellow paper and cut out around it. I also broke out my stamps for the word border along the side. Jenni Bowlin inks (navy and red) match perfect with this paper!!

Next up some pictures that have been on my desk for a while. Chris and I on our way to LA.

We had a really funny story about being super late to the airport and almost missing out plane - so they put us in first class. Its hard to tell from these pics but I used some glossy accents to add some shine to the paper below in certain areas.

Used the glossy accents on the plane as well to give it some shine. All the embellishments came in a super cute pack with chipboard shapes, tickets, journal pieces, buttons and ribbon. A great deal for lots of stuff!

Last night I stopped by Scrappy Chic to drop off all my layouts... and I can't believe how much new stuff is in there. I was good and didn't buy too much yet. I wanted to make sure I got all the good embellishments first... net time I will be out for more paper!!!

The one with some Halloween

Really its just right around the corner! Before we know it it will be here. So why not.....
(please excuse my pics - for some reason I couldn't get the colors right on these!)
This paper from Authentique is just so beautiful... even though I usually hate theme paper (other than travel stuff). But this is like - grown up Halloween :)
I wanted to use these letters from Ruby Rock It but I only had 1 'o'. So I used the #8 I think it looks cute. Have a feeling I will be using this trick more often now!

In my kit last month I got a lot of the WeR Sew Easy twine...I used some here at the top of my page. Now I thought I would LOVE this twine... but really its only for sewing on your pages. Its so slippery that it won't stay tied. Also it keeps the 'kinks' from being folded and you have to iron them out (I use my hair straightener). So - even though I wanted to like this product... I give it a thumbs down.

This weekend we have another wedding. A very good friend of my husband and I is getting married and we are so happy for them. Its going to be great to see all of our friends. Especially since we have our friends from Peterbourough staying with us!!! Tonight we are taking them to play 9 holes at our golf course and then a small party back at our place. Tomorrow will be filled with wedding stuff and more hanging out with friends. It will be a busy and fun weekend :)

Today is actually our 5 year wedding anniversary! We knew we had this wedding and guests so we are planning a golf trip later in November, probably to Myrtle Beach! In the meantime we got a nice gift card to our favorite restaurant so we will be going to dinner to celebrate as well!!!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

The one with some Smash

Is it Monday already? This weekend was a blur!

Friday we had all the groomsmen+some friends hanging out at the house, watching movies and eating pizza. Repeat again Saturday morning - two round of breakfast, lots of food, drinks and then getting ready for the wedding at 4pm. After sleeping only a few hours I was up and ready for the scrapbook yard sale at scrappy chic! Got some great deals and shopped the new stuff in the sore.

Angela made it super easy and had the kits ready to pick up as well. Love my kit and can't wait to play with it all. In all the craziness I forgot to bring over my layouts... so I will just have to make another trip soon..... yay :)

I got some SEI paper in my kit last month that I never got around to using. I really was stuck for what photo to use. Then I saw all my new smash stuff sitting on my desk and it reminded me of this picture...
Fawn and I getting Smashed at CHA! I ended up using two pages from my mini smash book as some paper on this layout. The tab at the top is one of the new smash tabs. The rest is paper and die cuts from SEI - Fair Day line. We aren't really at a fair here... but I still think it works.

Super fast layout for me --- literally came together in about 30 mins!
Done and done :)

This weekend we have another wedding... and house guests! So I don't know if I will have any scrapping time this week - so tonight I printed pictures for my kit so if I do get a few minutes I can crank them out. So I need some good inspiration.... what sites do you visit when you need some great inspiration?? Please share your faves!!
Thanks :)

The one with some buttons

Last weekend I got some time to sit down and scrapbook...but it took me until tonight to get some good pictures! Tomorrow is my brother in laws wedding - so we have been busy with wedding stuff all week as well.

I know that the new company Authentique has become pretty controversial in its short existence... if you want to see the gossip head over to 2 peas and read here... but I really like their stuff. The quality of the paper is great! So here is a quick layout I made with a collage of photos from a wedding we went to a few weeks ago.

I also finally got to use my new Tim Holtz flower die! Love how the layered flower turned out. Quick and simple is sometimes good!

I got this idea the other day that I should organize all my buttons. I had them in a bunch of packs that were multi colored and it worked for me so far....but I thought - How long could it take to color coordinate them? Well.... longer than I thought.
To be honest I don't know if I even really like it now that they are by color..... so my question to you is : How do you store/organize your buttons????? I think I need a new system and I am very interested in your input!!!

Hope you have a great weekend!
