The one with an update....

Just thought I would pop on to update about Babe - (thank you so much for all the thoughtful comments!). She is doing much better today now that she has some medication. We got x-rays of her chest and she had some fluid in her lungs and scar tissue making it hard for her to breath. She seems to be almost back to normal - eating and drinking more - not wheezing anymore - but she will have to stay on the meds for a month. On a side note... any Grey's Anatomy fans out there? Well tonight they officially 'jumped the shark'!! This episode was soooo stupid. Every time it got good they would start singing and I could hardly keep in the laughter. It was so hard to get into the episode - plus some of the WORST acting ever since you could tell the cast thought it was a joke as well. Hopefully that will be enough of that ....because although I have been there from the beginning.... tonight I almost turned it off and read a summary online! Sorry for the vent! :) With everything going on this week I just havn't had any scrappin' mojo! The golf course is opening tomorrow - yay! - so I hope that it will warm up enough that I can play this weekend. Also I have a few sets of invites to work on. Hope you have a great weekend :) ---sorry no pics in this post.... I hate posts without pics ;)---

The one with Crate Paper

I think that Crate Paper had some of the best lines this release. When I saw the all boy line I loved it... but really didn't know what I would use it for. Then I remembered this picture I took in Disney! No its not a statue.... that's a real guy dressed up in front of the Toy Story ride... which I didn't get to go on because of the 3 hour wait and no fast passes left :( I hear it was amazing. Well.... if you did get to go on it then you need this paper!!

Paper and border stickers are all Crate Paper, BG pieces, Kaiser mini letters (which are back in stock at Scrappy Chic!!!), misc buttons and brads! So proud of myself for using some super old brads - love it when I can use up some old stuff in my stash!

On a sad note.... my older cat (Babe) is not feeling well... having a hard time breathing - so I am bringing her to the vet today and I am keeping my fingers crossed that its just a hairball or something not too serious :(

Have a great day!

The one without camping!

I am not a camper! I don't like roughin' it.... even a cottage is border line if its too far from shopping and restaurants! :) Just the way I roll. My theory is that you have to camp as a kid to enjoy it - as a kid we went to golf resorts with kid activities, visited family, shopping trips to Chicago and Toronto...... - no camping! The joke in my family is that a hotel without room service is really roughin' it ;)

This line from AC - Campy Trail is made for those of you who love to camp...BUT super fun for so many other things as well! I used it for a golf trip I took way back with my husband Alain when we were just dating.... The wood grain really works for the outdoor pics. I was inspired by my friend Angela while creating this little clustered grouping on the side of the title.... All the paper is AC as well as the thickers. The fabric circles and journal spot area new BG life of the party - match so perfect with this line.

And as it always seems to go - the line that is suppose to challenge me the most turns out to be my favorite layout of the month :)

Hope you had a good weekend! I did some shopping on Saturday and got some great deals! Used my 25% off at JoAnns - picked up the Martha Stewart circle cutter. So far I tested it and I really like it! Full review once I have had more time to really play!!!

Have a great day!

The one with some LYB - Twig

Remember about two weeks ago LYB was having a sketch challenge over on their blog with the Twig collecion? Well I played a long.....just not in time :)

I started this layout a couple weeks ago and it sat on my desk needing journaling and some finising touches......

I love this collection! You can see how Angela used it here..... and Lisa's take on the same sketch here.
Used some new Thickers that have a wood grain-y look to them. The fabric banners and borders are my favotire in this collection!

Close up of the border and Prima flower in brown! Love these :)

Happy St. Patrick's day to all !!!! Any plans to drink green beer tonight? Today is my dad's birthday but we will be celebrating this weekend. Not much of a beer drinker myself.... but cheers to those who are celebrating today :)

The one with some My Minds Eye

I just love this paper from MME - they always hit it out of the park! When I first saw the sneak peeks I wasn't that excited... but in real life its gorgeous!

I love this pic of us on Hollywood Blvd - trying on some funny shades! Chris and Fawn forgot theirs and got a steal of a deal on some hot shades. I did not buy the heart glasses .. lol :)

Are you tired of banners yet? Well I hope not because they are still the hottest trend! Maya Road came out with these canvas banners .......

Its hard to see but I used some banner stamps from Hero Arts on the canvas to give it little polka dots! Used my new Jenni Bowlin ink as well - my review is in and so far I love them!!! In this picture you can see the great texture this paper has as well!

The stacked 'flower' on the right side is also stamped with the coordinating MME stamps! Used some pop dots and inked the edges in brown. The border stickers used are all from the new Crate Paper lines - I got all 4 border stickers sets... so I don't remember which one was from which. But I did stamp on the pink one with the MME border stamps! (Angela will be so proud of all my stampage!)

If you havn't been over to Catch the Moments Kits you should check out all the new stuff they have! The Echo Park - for the record as well as all the new Crate Paper and MME can be found at a really great price!

Thanks for stopping by!

The one with some Echo Park

Wow! Where has the time gone! I have been busy keeping up with the new kitten, work, friends, shopping and scrapping. At least I am back with a few fun things to show :)

This weekend I brought my friend Josie to Scrappy Chic. It was her first visit and I think it was a little overwhelming! There is nowhere in Windsor to get all the latest and greatest! I was joking with her that once she gets a taste for buying paper by the piece she will not want to go back to those flimsy stack papers :) I spent almost all my yard sale earnings.... but I got so much great stuff!

On our way home we stopped at Mexican Town for lunch...... yummy! Lets just say it was a cheese overload and sooooo good :) We were even nice enough to bring back leftovers for the guys for dinner!

Once we got home we got scrapping! I am proud that I got 2 layouts done and journaling finished on another - plus helped Josie with some of hers. Pretty productive day!

My first layout is for the DT at Scrappy Chic - New Echo Park - For the Record!

Just some pics of Fawn, Chris and I being silly at CHA. They had a big backdrop with the hollywood sign - which was great since out pics of the actual sign didn't turn out as well as we hoped!

Some details of the journaling --- Check out the teeny tiny mini letter stickers from Kaiser Craft! For scale - think about 1/4 the size of the Cosmo Cricket ones!!
---Told you I would totally use them Chris :)
(Excuse the sideways pic - silly blogger won't let me upload it straight!)

Almost the entire time we were scrapping on saturday night.... Maya had to be on mine or Josie's lap!!! She wanted in on the Girls night :)
And when she was awake... she was a crazy terror.... getting into EVERYTHING!!!
This is where I found her Sunday morning when I heard a ton of noise in the office:

She somehow got the cover to my sewing machine off and she was playing in it. Her head popped out of where the handle would go.....silly kitty!!!

Hope you had a good weekend!

The one with Maya!

Say Hi to the newest member of our family :)

We have been looking for a little kitten add to our family for a while now. On Thursday night I saw her online and we picked her up last night after work. She is sooooo cute !!!
She is very hyper and has lots of energy.... but when she gets tired she is very snuggley (is that a word?)! This morning I was folding laundry and she was getting sleepy and wanted to be close to me. So I put her in the basket and she fell right asleep!

She also eats a lot! She is so small that she stands half in the dish to eat.
Babe on the other hand is not liking the new friend so much! But I'm sure she will get over it and they will eventually be friends.... hopefully :)

Hope you have a great weekend!!!! This little one will be keeping us on our toes for sure! :)

The one with new Prima

This year the paper that really blew me away was at the Prima booth of all places! I always love their flowers and embellishments - but this time I was crazy for the paper. First, its beautiful! But it's also really thick and had a nice texture.

Last week when I was doing a little shopping I couldn't resist.... so I picked up one of the lines to play with. Its been a while since I did a page just for me (ie: not for a design team!).

I love this picture first of all.... and their hats made it so perfect for these papers!

The small rose trim is Tim Holtz spritzed with pink glimmer mist. The journal card is new MME - the colors match perfect! Added some mini letter stickers for the journaling and some stitching.
The large floral... well that is another favorite of mine that I couldn't wait to get when I saw it at CHA. These trims are about 2.5" wide.... and I need them in every color :)
I have another layout I did this weekend using LYB Twig.... but I still need some journaling and then I can share that one as well. I hope to get some time in to scrap this weekend - we have our last curling outing Saturday, this time with my ex-co-workers.... can't wait to see them :)
Have a great day!
