The one with my new stuff!

I finally made it over to Scrappy Chic today! You would think since I'm not working that I would have all the time in the world.... but the funny thing is... I am almost more busy not working than when I did! I feel like there is always something to get done.

Anyway.... last week I picked up this Tim Holtz die... so today I bought the long plates that I need for my Cuttlebug so I can actually use this die! I am sure they will be handy for other things as well....
Some new Dear Lizzy! Are those dark purple alphas I see???? lol. Yes I am a dork and have e-mailed AC in the past suggesting that they make dark purple alphas! I am sure its all Liz Kartchner's idea... but I like to think it was my nagging as well :)
Check out the 'just write' journal cards! As soon as I saw these at CHA I had to have them! I plan to use these a lot. And the cute felt flowers... Ahhh love them.

More flowers here from Maya Road. More neutral... but I have plans for them already ;)
These clear stamps from Kaiser look cool on their own..... BUT the real reason I bought them is because there are matching die cuts that go with this set! All you have to do it stamp. I like that. Unfortunately they were not in yet.... so I just got the stamps for now!
Jillibean twine. Saw this used over on Angela's blog... snagged the last pack!!!

Of course I got some of the new tiny type.... and the Jenni Bowlin school house letters (not sure if thats the real name... but thats what I call them!) Love the new tiny size!!!

This afternoon I have been doing a major purge in my room! I have a HUGE box of stuff ready for the yard sale that will be on the 26th of September. There is some good stuff in this box too!! So I am excited to have more room in my little space as well as some more shopping money. I still have some cleaning to do so I am sure I will find more stuff to sell!

Good news... kinda! I had an interview this morning! It went really well and I think I will get at least a part time offer out of it. I am very excited about this but don't want to jinx it by getting ahead of myself. So fingers crossed!!!!!

The one with some Christmas in August

A Christmas layout??.... in August??.... yes!
And that is because I hate to scrapbook Christmas! I have had this photo on my desk for about 8 months now... and every time I see it I put it back for and pick a more fun picture to scrap. But its about time I just get it done.
Super simple and cute. Momenta paper and cardstock here. Loopy love letters and some AC ribbon. Done and done!

On to more fun layouts :)
These are some pics from our day out at Tiger Stadium!
Super fun and bright Echo Park papers here! Had them for a while now and wanted to play with them so bad. Worked out well with some Doodle Bug 'grass' trim at the bottom and some glitter Thickers.

Last but not least.... one of the new-ish MME- So Sophie lines! Love the turquoise mix with the puce green/yellow-ish color.
The yellow trim from the Pink Paislee Queen Bee line woks perfect with this paper. The brown flowers are Bazzill and the Blue one is Maya Road! Pictures were taken at our favorite southern BBQ restaurant that just opened up in Windsor about a year ago. Lots of food and super cheap! Yum :)

Hope everyone had a good weekend... not too much going on here. Played a little golf and did some scrapping. Had some friends over for dinner on friday. Pretty relaxed weekend overall.

Tomorrow I am heading over to Scrappy Chic to drop off my layouts and do some shopping!!! Yay!!! They have got so much stuff in its crazy. Also its 40% off coupon day.... so I will be pickinp up my new long cuttlebug plates!!

The one with some Imaginisce

This has been a pretty low key week for me. Feels like I have not really been getting much done... but I have been working on my DT layouts for Scrappy Chic!

Here is the one I made yesterday afternoon....
Old school Polaroid photos that I took at my Dad's 40th Birthday party. I think I would have been about 12 at the time. I thought I was so cool because I got to go and no other 'kids' were there. I got to help serve the food and take pictures!

Papers are Imaginisce, Pink Paislee trim, lots of mics buttons, thread and chipboard here too.

I had lots of left over scraps.... so I thought I would whip up a birthday card. Can never have too many of those! I like that this paper can really be used for ANY kind of birthday- kid, adult, boy or girl.

Today I have been finishing up my Momenta projects for the month.... and dog-sitting for my parents! This is our dog Georgia!
She rreeeaaallllyy HATES the camera!!! Its so hard to get a picture of her looking at the camera. I surprised her as she snuck around the corner :) I will have her to keep me company all day tomorrow as well.... which means I will not get anything done because she has to be at my side or sitting on me ALL THE TIME!

Can't wait for Alain to get home from work so she can bug him :) lol.... she LOVES Alain!!!

The one with two personalities!

This weekend was kinda rainy and overcast.... so I got to do some scrapping! These next two layouts are both mostly Sassafras Lass - Indie Girl. Love the colors in this line!

You & Me - Jess and I at my brother Sean's wedding a couple weekends ago.
The ribbon is May Arts silk. So soft and beautiful to work with (too bad I can't sew straight!! oops!!)
A BG Olivia flower here with the matching BG ribbon doilies. Bazzill swiss dot green as the background here.

CHA- Yay! I was so excited to scrap some of my CHA pics. This one is super cute. All three of us at the Sassafrass Lass booth... thought it would be perfect to use SassLass paper :)
Kind of a 'flat' layout for me... but I like it. Both of these are for Scrapp Chic. Hope to head out there tomorrow to drop them off!

Now to switch gears totally!!!
Alain and I went to the Green Day concert last night at DTE! They put on the best shows ever. I liked them a lot back in the days of 'dookie' but Alain is a super fan.... so I have really gotten into them over the past 7 years as well.
View from our seats.... not the best... but we could see much better than this picture really shows!
Us at the show. Wish I kept count... but I believe this is something like my 10th Green day show. We have gone to at least one every year since I have been with Alain. Some years we have gone to 2! I know we don't look like punk rock fans.... but we are :)
This was during Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Its amazing... they played for 3 hours!!! We missed their first song because we didn't know they would be going on so early. Anyway....we had a blast as always :)

Hope you had a great weekend!

The one with some Reminisce

When I got this paper in my DT kit I knew exactly which pictures to use...... and thats because I am not a fan of the beach and have hardly any beach pictures.... so there were not much to choose from :)
And what is this???? A white cardstock background??? Crazy I know!! If you check out my gallery over on 2 Peas you will not find many solid backgrounds or cardstock anywhere! I love my patterned paper.... But this line seemed so dark for a summer beach line... it needed some white to pump it up!
The letters are good ol' loopy love... doubled up here with black behind the white to make them pop a little more. Jenni Bowlin scalloped journal spot (my fave!). Made the word borders with the stickers lined up on white paper and then trimmed in blue too.

Hope you like it!! It will be up at Scrappy Chic soon.... and you need to get over there and check out all the new CHA products that have been rolling in! I have no idea where Chris is going to fit it all.... but I can't wait :)

Have a great weekend!

The one with a bunch of updates

So this past week was super busy as usual! I finally got to scrap last night! But lets go back....

Thursday was our wedding Anniversary! Can't believe its been 4 years already :) So we went to dinner on Friday night to the Keg... our favorite place!

Saturday night we were going to have my brother and Jess over... but plans changed and we all ended up at the Club for dinner with my parents. After which we all went to the Casino! Unfortunately we didn't win.... but we had fun playing blackjack and then some Roulette.

Sunday I went shopping in Novi with Jess. We ended up all over the place looking for a lamp that I really wanted. We found one at TJ Max but there was no matching one....so 4 stores later I ended up just returning it. Since it was so hot out we decided not to hurry back to golf.... instead we went to IKEA!!! :) I got a LACK shelf for over my TV, a small shelf for the kitchen and a new desk chair. Overall a pretty successful trip!

Our last stop was over at Scrappy Chic to pick up my design team kit. LOVE it!!! (thanks Angela!) I got some Reminisce - wave crashers, Imaginisce - Bday bash and Sasafrass Lass - Indie Girl! I didn't buy the indie girl line hoping that I would get it in my kit :) I think the picture of us girls at CHA in the Sassafrass booth will be perfect for this one!!

I am so behind on my Momenta projects....yikes! So I busted out three last night!!
Here is the layout I made with the travel kit....
Super simple but cute... love the orange and blue combo!

This is another quick project.... a card with a little border piece and some striped paper. Sassafrass lass letters! Love these... they are such a great size.
The third project is the little cupcake there! Saw these at CHA and just had to try one for myself! I think it turned out well for my first try :)

Off to clean out my car.... its a beautiful day so I should go enjoy summer before its over!

The one with a baseball game!

A few weeks ago, our friends Tim and Ashley invited us to a baseball game at Comerica Park! Its been a long time since I have been at a game. When I was younger, my Dad had season tickets so we went a lot more often.

The Detroit Tigers were playing the Toronto Blue Jays, Tim and Ash thought it would be fun since we are Canadian and they are American.... us vs them :) It was such a beautiful day.... but very hot!
We stayed for most of the game .... and then headed over to one of my favorite downtown spots.... Nikki's Pizza :) yum!
Alain and I outside the stadium!
Tim and Ash outside the stadium!

After pizza.... were were stuffed.... but they suggested we head over to Astoria Bakery!
At first we were just going to look.... but everything was sooooo good. We got two pieces of cheesecake to take back home with us. If you are every in 'Greektown' (an area in downtown Detroit) I highly recommend stopping by!

Thanks Tim and Ash for a really fun afternoon :)

The one with famous people!

Well maybe not ALL famous people :)
Here is our crew from Scrappy Chic at CHA. This was taken at the end of our last day in the Sassafrass Lass booth! I had so much fun and was so grateful that Chris asked me to tag along. (Chris, Me and Mary!)

Some more semi-famous people at the show....
These two were working at the Graphic 45 booth. We met them again outside in line for our bus to the hotel. I started to chat with them about their costumes.... which they made totally themselves! Totally cool and over the top! When we got on the bus a lady came on and sat behind them saying " Oh my gosh we get to sit behind the famous people" LOL. They really were the hit of the show!

Any Project Runway fans out there???? I hope I am not alone..... but if you are a fan then you may remember 'Suede' from the last season :) He was there at the craftwell booth. He was so nice and down to earth! We chatted a bit and he gave me an autograph too :) Plus see those dresses behind him.... well he made those using the new eCraft machine! Very cool! You can see his website here!
And then for my totally geek out moment..... here I am with Elizabeth Kartchner!! aka Dear Lizzy from AC!!!
Ok so Mary and I were taking pictures of some layouts over at October Afternoon booth... a lady goes to walk in front so we stop to tell her to go by.... then I see its LizzyK.... well I must have looked totally stupid... I stopped and turned to her and said something like " oh my god... your Elizabeth Kartcher.... I mean I am such a fan.... can I get a picture with you!" (well truth be told.... I think I was a lot less cool than that quote made me seem!) lol. Too bad I didn't have time to plan this moment! I would have ditched the apron... and picked a better backdrop!!!! I mean come on... I am a scrapbooker right!! Oh well.... at least I got a picture :)

So that was my small brush with fame at the show. I did get to meet a couple other people at the ProvoCraft party.... but Chris still has the pictures of that. I will have to post them another time!

Off to get working on some projects!

The one with a Wedding

Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day! It was 75 and sunny and clear! This summer has been so hot.... we were lucky to have a great day. Here are some pictures from the wedding day....

The bridal party walked along the path on to the patio where we had the ceremony. The golf course grounds were so beautiful!
The setup... on the patio where the ceremony took place!
Alain and I with the Bride and Groom (Sean and Mahsa)
Jess and I with the cousins.... being silly :) They are such beautiful girls!!!
Mahsa being silly.....
The centerpieces.... so beautiful...
I have so many more pictures.... but you will have to wait to see them all in layouts I will be doing ;) I can't wait to get started on them!

The one with Photo Strips

Phew! Its been a crazy two weeks!
Really fun.... but not much scrapping going on. Here are a few that I made just prior to leaving for CHA. Both of them have photo strips in them. Just funny that it happened that way.
I loved working on this first one..... Bo Bunny paper, sticker elements and sticker alphas. The bright colors and with black accents really work for these pictures of our night out for Josie's birthday.
Really fun and simple page. Outlined 'Josie' in white pen to make them pop off the black background.... love the way it turned out!
This next one is pictures from my trip to the St. Louis Zoo.... all the pictures were very grey in tone.... so this old school BG paper really worked with the organic feel of the pictures. I wanted to get a lot of photos on a one page layout.... so two photo strips worked out well!
Made a pocket from some paper to put the map of the Zoo in. Its a really cool map inside so I wanted to keep it with the pictures but not in a too obvious way.
So tomorrow is the big day.... my little brother is getting married!!! You might remember all of the wedding shower layouts I did about two months ago?? Can't believe how the time flew by. We had the rehearsal dinner last night, so tonight we will hang out with family!
Be warned that I might be scrapping a lot of the wedding photos over the next few months lol! :)

Signing out til Monday at least.... want to spend as much time with my family while they are in town as possible. Then I need to get back and get some DT scrapping done!
Have a great weekend!

The one with Prima overload!

We spent a lot of time in this booth. And I was just fine with that! There was so much to see. I think I need just about everything in it! Supper picture heavy post....

Kinda hard to see in this pic.... but the ribbon trims with flowers in the bottom are awesome! Going to be pricey! But totally worth it. The only ones at the show with patterned fabric used for the flowers! Top of the pic is lace flowers!
Again... I should have got better detailed shots of these.... they are made of swede! Super cool and great colors!
Lots of new flower packs!
And more...
Love these!!These are minis!
Love the combo packs.... crochet and paper flowers together in a pack!!
Check out the new jewelry line! I am going to be making this stuff for sure!!!
Pearl swirls that have vintage lace along the edges! To die for!
Bright colored bling, that comes in a swirl pattern. So cute.
I have a ton of inspiration pics I took at this booth as well.... but I think they need their own post :) Off to bed now.... super busy week again coming up. Count down to my brothers wedding on Saturday!!!! yay!!!
