The one with some Mega Meet info..

Taking a break from layouts this week to focus on invites! I finished the message in a bottle invite yesterday! Super cute. Still need to take a picture... then I will share!

Today my SIL-to-be is on her way over to help make her invites! She and her sister were into scrapbooking way before I was. Mahsa was the one who got me started way back in the day :)
The invites she picked are from Envelopments.... soooo nice... can't wait to show them to you!

So back to my post title!!!! I will be working Mega Meet in the Scrappy Chic booth on Friday! Very excited about this. I ran into Angela at Archivers yesterday and she mentioned that Chis might need help during Mega Meet..... I think its going to be so much fun! .... And gives me more reason to hang out there! I will be attending on Saturday as well with some Friends to shop!!!

So if you are in the area you should divinely come to Mega Meet.... and don't forget to stop by the booth and say HI :)

Oh and Angela and I will be attending the free crop at Scrappy Chic on sunday afternoon! Come on out and scrapbookg with us!!!!

PS - Angela is awesome with stamps... I am afraid of them! But yesterday I bought these little gems! They are from studio calico. I love letter of any kind and these are so cute. Angela is going to help me conquer my fear of stamps ;)

The one with a BIG announcement!

Well I know I said that I couldn't say anything until NSD May 1st..... but I have got the go ahead to tell you now!

I have been asked to be apart of the ATD-Momenta design Team! I am very excited about this opportunity. There are some BIG changes happening over at Momenta! Starting with an online store that is set to launch sometime this week.

ATD products can also be found in many bix box stores (JoAnns, Michaels, WalMart, Zellers, ACMoore) as well as Archivers!

Also, all week you can join them on Facebook for a chance to win some free product every day this week!

Plus, when their online store opens, there will be a 20% off all products coupon that you will be able to get by checking back here on my blog! I will post it as soon as I get it!

The official DT announcement will happen on May 1st! Very excited to see their new products and what I will be getting to work with. I hope that you will go on over and check out their Facebook page for more info!

Now off to drop off stuff for my Scrappy Chic DT and visit my friend Annette to pick up lots of boxes for 3 sets of invites! Super fun :)

Have a great afternoon!

The one with 2 layouts

I have two layouts to share today. One is for Mega Meet and the other for the store!

First up is some Lily Bee Designs! Cute bright paper. Used this on a boy page even though it is flowers! Finally got to use these cool letters from Jillibean soup... and they look like a box too :)

Second layout is more Cosmo Cricket - Material Girl.... I promise this is the last CC you will see here for a while :) I am Cosmo'd out!!! Its also my last LO for Mega Meet... so now I just need to get these all over to the store!

Close up.... love these chipboard letters from Heidi Grace.... had them for a while... so glad I finally got to use them!
Now I am just hoping the weather will warm up a little bit! It was gray and windy all weekend but I did manage to get in 9 on Saturday and 18 on Sunday with my mom. No one was on the course... it was nice to have it all to our selves!
I need to get some gardening done as well.... I'm sure my neighbours are sick of looking at my weedy beds! ;)

The one with some LYB

Its been a crazy week! But here is another layout that I did last night. It doesn't feel 'done' to me. So its going to hang here next to my desk as I move on. I'm sure it will strike me as to what it needs. This is for the store.... Little Yellow Bicycle - Freshprint Clothesline! The pink paper with the flowers is my favorite! I think the yellow, green and pink are a really nice combo!

I used Liz Kartchner's tutorial over on the American Crafts blog to make this little fabric flower from the Dear Lizzy - Fabric paper. Super simple and cute! Link to video--click here!!
Tonight I am moving on to some Lily Bee products! I have not used them before but they are bright and fun and cute :)

Hope you get some scrapping time in this weekend!
Oh and I got a super secret surprise today that I am dying to tell you all... but I can't until May 1st! I hate when I have good news and can't share!!! (it's scrap related....... just need to clarify so no prego rumors start flying around!!!) lol

Have a great weekend!

The one with Creative Imaginations

Yesterday was such beautiful weather here! I didn't want to be inside all day.... so I did get out to practise a little and play 9 holes! Usually Alain and I play together after work during the week but since he has been extra busy he has not been out to the course yet :(

His beloved Montreal Canadians played last night again... so during the game I whipped this up!

The paper, journal spots and title are all Creative Imaginations. The title is just flat stickers so I added pop dots to give them some dimension. I usually don't like black and brown together ... but I think the shades of grey mixed in makes it work.
Close up....used a transparent brown flourish that I have had forever! I knew I was keeping it for a reason..lol. The butterfly is by Jenni Bowlin.
Close up - Prima flower... love the pearl in the middle!!! Added some MM vintage findings flower pins in behind. Loving the new pleated ribbon from Pink Paislee too... need to stock up on that stuff!!!
Still have at least 2 more layouts I need to get done for Scrappy Chic before the end of the month.... more hockey tonight and tomorrow... so I may have them done in time to drop off on Sunday!

Another beautiful day here today! My garden is looking a little crazy right now... maybe I should get out there and pull some weeds before they take over!!

Have a great day!

The one with We R Memory Keepers

Another layout? Yes I have been a busy bee! Its hockey playoffs right now.... which means I don't watch any TV.... Alain has at least 3 games a night to watch and usually falls asleep on the couch.
The timing works out well since I have lots to do for the DT this month as well as the Mega Meet! So excited about all the different product I have been working with.
This layout uses the We R Memory Keepers new line - 72 and Sunny! I love using orange for some reason on my layouts... especially with blue....

Close up ....
Have to say I really like this line.... with one exception!! The puffy stickers do not stick!! I used so much glue on the back of the border sticker at the top and still it keeps popping off. Maybe its just me. I ended up having to use glue dots to keep it down but still the edges are coming up a little. Ugh!

The sun die cut was originally a lot bigger... there was a band of white and then the yellow polka dot around the edges.... but I wanted to use the yellow paper as my background so I cut it out. Then did some sewing (surprise, surprise!) around the edge. I don't mind that its not the best sewing... makes it a little more whimsical :)

So the plan today... maybe bust out another layout... and maybe some golf :)
Have a great day!

The one with a little Liz

I have made my peace with the Material Girl line... I hated it really... I was scared to have to use it again! But I do really like how this turned out! It helps to have a picture that makes sense with this paper since the theme is pretty bossy!
So this is little Liz :) Me and my coloring book... circa 1985 ish.
Close up..... layered all the chipboard flowers together for some dimension.
Since I have been making a lot of layouts lately.... and giving them all to Scrappy Chic to display... I thought I would come up with a way to display them in my office while I do have them! I bought a couple of these 3M hooks and put them on each side of my big windows.

My walls ARE the same color but look purple in this second picture :) lol.
Then I just used some twine and a couple extra office clips I had in my scrap stash. Probably cost me about $3 total. They are super simple to change around at any time which I love. I really like being able to see some of my work up since I usually just put it right into an album!
The second one just hangs behind.
I got this little hanger at Scrappy Chic forever ago! I always forget to see if they have any more! But this is what I use to hang my layouts when I photograph them. I have a hook in my guest bedroom because it has the best natural light in the afternoon for picture taking!
Been really productive today! Ordered all the paper for 2 sets of invites. Then printed out all the invites for a third set. Made this layout while the printer was busy working hard! Need to clean my desk area now... its a disaster... but I do want to make a couple more cards with the Cosmo Cricket stuff while I am not hating it ;)

The one with Graphic 45 - Part 3!

LOL! Well its not another layout with Graphic 45 but it is a couple of cards! The paper looks like ties that I'm sure my dad has... so I went with some masculine cards. Fathers day and Birthday.

I also finished this layout last night! Its mostly Cosmo Cricket, Garden Variety - the paper, stickers, chipboard tomato and mini letter stickers. The chipboard alpha is BG and some navy swiss dot bazzill for the matting.

Close up....
If you haven't noticed the last few days I am OBSESSED with sewing. I just have to sew on everything!! I used to be so scared of it and worried I would wreck all my hard work.... not scared anymore!! Now I just need to find a place to keep it out in my room so its not such a pain to drag out :)

Taking a break from Mega Meet stuff today to get some invitations done. Off now to pick up some paper and get to work! Then I am meeting my friend Liv for dinner... haven't seen her in a long time so its going to be great to catch up!

Have a great afternoon!

The one with Graphic 45 - Part 2!

One of the reasons why I really wanted to be on the Scrappy Chic design team was to push myself. To use different product than I would normally choose, to try new techniques and challenge myself to think outside the box of what is comfortable for me! Last month I really didn't feel like my work was very good... as hard as I tried I couldn't "make it work!" as Tim Gunn would say! But this month.... I feel like I really pushed through and I am proud of what I did.

Before, Graphic 45 is not something I would EVER choose to buy.... but now I am starting to really like it :) I know the two layouts I made are not 'the best ever' but to me I think I am more proud of them because I made them work for me!
Enough of my blabbering.... here is the second layout.....

And a close up.
There is a lot of distressing, sewing and layering of patterns in this that don't translate well to pictures... especially since its gray outside again today and I have no natural light to photograph with!!

I have two cards I made last night as well. Forgot to take a picture of them so maybe there will have to be a part 3 to this post :) lol.

Next up on my plate is some Cosmo Cricket..... still a little scared of them as well...but I have the mojo going right now so I think I should just dive in today!!
-Liz

PS- Anyone else a 'Hockey Playoff Widow' like me? I know they just began but I already can't wait til they are over!!!! Ugh!!! .....and no you don't get kicked out of Canada if you live here and don't like hockey!!!.... contrary to what you might think! ;)

The one with Graphic 45!

Its cold, overcast and windy here. Not good golf weather. But it is good scrapbook weather! As much as I want to be out on the course today... I also need to get some layouts done for the Mega Meet! Here is one I did with Graphic 45. Have to say I was a little scared to work with this paper.... but I really love how it turned out. The prefect paper for some old pictures!

I went to my mom's and grabbed these pictures from my dad's Law School graduation in 1981! The colors and feel of the papers work great with the pictures... the red paper reminds me of a tie that my dad has :)

Some details.... Kaiser Crafts flowers, Heidi Swapp clock, basic grey letters, misc button, twine and some stitching.

Tonight, my brother and Jess are coming over for dinner... then the guys have some serious hockey playoffs to watch... and the girls some serious scrapping to do :)

Hope you are having a great weekend!

The one with a mini

I started this mini album for the Mega Meet on sunday. Been chipping away at it all week and only have a few little things left. So I thought I would share my process with you.

First, this is what the raw album looked like.
Then I painted the edges with black paint. I usually just ink the edges but this Kaiser Crafts album is thicker, like a smooth plywood material, so I thought paint would be faster.
I picked out all my pictures and printed them out. I arranged them by what pages they would go on so I didn't get confused.
Next up, I covered all the pages with paper. I had to cheat a little on this one. My original plan was to use the 6x6 paper pack I got... but it wasn't wide enough... so I added some other papers but made it look like I planned it that way ;)
Now the fun part! Putting it all together and adding the pretty stuff!
This is the front of all the pages....
And the back....
Still a little journaling left to do on the last two pages.... hope to get that done tonight!
Here is the album all together...
This album doesn't come with a ring so I am going to have to try and find one. A black one would be cool... I think 7 gypsies has them?? hum...

Well today was such beautiful weather here in Windsor! I finally got around to painting the railing on my porch! Sounded like a simple job but its kinda ornate and took a lot longer than I thought. But it looks great now :) Another thing off my list of house stuff to accomplish before the shower!

The one with an itty bitty bathroom

My bathroom is very small!!! When we bought the house we planned to put in a second bathroom in the basement.... but we haven't done it yet! So we have learned to live with this little one for the last 5 years. When I registered for towels and things for our wedding, everything I picked was white not thinking how plain this bathroom would look!

So this weekend I was shopping with the girls in the states, looking for things for Mahsa's new place and I fell in love with a shower curtain! It was only $15 so I figured it was a good buy.... but then maybe I need some towels to go with it?.... We found Nautica towel sets (2 face, 2 hand, and 2 body) for $20/set! So I got two of those.
But then maybe it would be cute to have the matching accessories! (soap dish, lotion pump, cup and toothbrush holder) Well they were only $12 for the set!
And then the set of boxes in the same fabric as the curtain... I had to have those... only $6 for the set or three!
So $80 later I am loving my little bathroom right now :)
(yea I know I need to iron out the creases in the shower curtain but I was too excited to put it up!!! lol)

If you remember a few weeks ago I painted my bedroom and now I have my bathroom updated.... I am on a mission to get my house in shape before my family comes for the shower in May! Its been 4 years since they have been here.... which was for my shower! And this time I have a proper guest room for them to stay in!!

When we first bought this house I did not scrapbook yet. Everything I picked out was 'safe'. White, beige, simple. Now that I scrapbook I have found that my style in home decor has changed a lot as well. I am not afraid of pattern and mixing colors! I don't think I would have been brave enough to pick this color 4 years ago! The pattern of the shower curtain looks like scrapbook paper I would totally use :)

The one with Pink Paislee

I have been waiting for this line for sooooo long :) There are some lines that come out and you just want everything in it. This is one of them for me. I also want Burberry cottage and 365 degrees.... but I had to hold back!
See the papers .....

I got the alphas, journal stickers and border stickers as well as the pleated ribbon trim! Beware this ribbon trim might just be on every project I make from now on :)

I have great ideas for this paper from the moment I saw it! My brother is getting married this summer and I am in the wedding... our bridesmaid dresses are black... we got to pick them and I love them. But I think that the pictures from their wedding will be perfect for this paper.... or is it that the paper will be perfect for the pictures? hum... Either way I have big plans!

Scrappy Chic will be having a class using this line to make a 6x12 canvas album. I just might have to take it too! The canvas albums are so cool!

Ok enough gushing! I wanted to show a sneak peek of the cutest invites I am working on. These are two samples I sent:

Horrible picture I know.... but I just wanted her to pick the paper for the background and I did send her some other pics as well. Anyway... Holly is getting married in Mexico! These pages will be rolled up and put into little Coronita bottle with some sand and shells to invite all her friends and family to join them for a vacation and wedding! Such a great unique idea!

I will share the whole project just as soon as we have it all together :)

Off to pack again! Going to Brich Run, MI (shopping outlet) for the night with Jess, Mahsa and Krysti for Jess' birthday tomorrow!

Have a great weekend

The one with Mega Meet stuff

Are you going to the Mega Meet??? If you are in the area... or even if you want to take a little trip you should come! Its always super fun. I think this will be my fourth year going... and my first year to have my work being displayed :) Very excited for that!

Scrappy Chic is going to have an awsome booth there featuring products from Kaiser Crafts, Graphic 45 and Cosmo Cricket!! This month our Design Team kits were FILLED like crazy!! Here is what I got (PS- this list is loooooong :)
Creative Imaginations paper: ---- love this!!
A new company... Lilybee Designs - Very colorful!
Little Yellow Bicycle - Freshprint Clothesline --- very excited about this line!

We R Memory Keeper- 72 & Sunny -- Cute and Fun!

I believe this is Tim Holtz paper--- don't hate me, but I'm not usually a Tim fan.... these look like fun paper and I am excited to see what I can do with it.... and I got ALOT of it :)

Graphic 45 - New to me as well.... not my style at all... but I'm sure I will rock it somehow!! I love the architecture paper and the patterns that remind me of my dad's ties!

So since the booth will be filled with Kaiser Crafts... here is a mini album I will be making and some flowers to incorporate into my projects this month.

Love these little pins.... and the journaling spots are to die for! (all LYB)

I was sooooo excited to get these chipboard buttons and flowers (Lilybee Designs) and the big titles are from Creative Imaginations!

Misc embellishments from We R

Lots of stickers to go with the CC Material Girl and Garden Variety - Love the frames!

Cute ribbon... not sure who makes it... reminds me of prima but I don't think it is? (let me know if you know who makes it!)

Lots of CC chipboard embellishments! The buttons and flowers are my fave! I will have to do some thinking as so how to use the veggies with faces :)

Phew! That was a lot of stuff. This does not include the CC paper I got and a bunch of Pink Paislee stuff I bought. I saw the Queen Bee line and I couldn't resist!!!
Off to play.....
