The one with a mix....

of old and new!!!!

I love these papers from BG Olivia line. I have had them in my stash and just never got around to use them yet. I noticed that they would work great with the accessories from Crate Papers new lines.....
I think this is one of my most favorite titles ever... love the mix of three different letters!!

Any layout with this cute little kitty would be cute :)

Products: BG - paper, bloomer, pieces. Maya Road - ribbon. Crate Paper - buttons, banner sticker, journal stickers.

Anyone going to attend Mega Meet this year? I can't believe that its already next weekend. Can't wait!!

The one with even more Kraft...

Hope everyone had a great Easter! We had a fun weekend.... saw a comedy show, got to golf and hang out with family, won some money at the casino (yeah!), played Euchre, ate lots of great food!!

I have decided to give Kraft a chance.... and I love the look of kraft with white! This page started as an experiment in stamping and embossing. I used MME stamps and white embossing powder to create the pattern down the left side.... then pulled out some of my favorite white products.

Pics of me at CHA with some very inspiring ladies - Lizzy Kartchner, Kelly Pukey and Jenni Bowlin. I added assorted vintage looking buttons all from different lines of Crate Paper - best buttons ever- just sayin'.
The letters are good old loopy love - feels good to mix some old products with the new.

I have been neglecting the blog... not because I have not been scrappin' - but just not enought time to update. But tonight I photographed 4 new layouts to share!!! Hopefully I will be able to update more than once a week :)

The one with some Kraft!

I know a lot of people are fans of the Kraft paper.... I am not one of them. I do love how it looks and have tried it many times but I can't make it work. When I saw this line from We R I was excited to try it out.... its Kraft color but not the texture - a little easier for me to work with....
These pictures are from Disney this past Christmas. Jess and I picked pearls at the Japanese pavilion. I think I have done this every time I have been to Disney. I thought the papers lent themselves to an Asian-ish theme. Added some BG pieces from the hopscotch line (cut the frame from a journal spot!) and lots of pearls!

The banner is made by punching the circles out from another sheet of paper and folding them over some twine. Hard to tell by the picture, but I also did some scalloped doodling around the banner. Might be the least amount of paper I have every used on a layout! lol...

Since I had to much left over - I did make a second layout. I still need to photograph it yet!

So... whats your stance on Kraft... love or hate?????

Have a great day,

The one with my Nanny

My Nanny - my father's mother. Everyone always called her that, even my grandpa Jack. I found a book of old photos not too long ago and this was one that I just loved. This was my Nanny on the day of her first holy communion. I love this picture.

I have been hoarding (or saving!!) this Pink Paislee paper for just the right layout. I thought it was special enough for this picture. The photo is not the best - doesn't not do it justice. I have been playing around with different places in the house to photograph my layouts but haven't found the perfect place yet! (maybe we just need more sun!!!)

Close up of the photo. I left a space to add in the year. I keep forgetting to ask my dad what year she was born so I could estimate the year of the photo!

This weekend I was super motivated and got two layouts done with one line - I know that sounds weird but two layouts from 3 pieces of paper for me its crazy. I usually use up to 5 pieces on a layout :) I will share those soon..... just have to find a good place to photograph them! lol.

Hope you have a great week - short week for me with Easter this weekend! yay! lots of time to golf - weather permitting!

The one with some Zippers

Some trends I don't get - random owls and deer on a page about ice cream or babies.... not for me! But Zipper is the new trim - and I am on board with this trend. There are not a lot of embellishments that are rugged and masculine but also work as a flower!

I thought that some zipper would work for these pictures of our last concert of the summer - Green Day. Yes, I know what your thinking - a scrapbooking, country club golfing girl and Green Day? Doesn't seem to go together - but they are Alain's favorite band and over the years seeing them in concert so many times, they are one of mine too! They put on a great show and they actually sing and play their songs almost better than on the album..... The colors didn't turn out that great in the photo (sorry-not enough sun this morning for a good picture!) but the background is suppose to be black and the papers are new from SEI. The 'tape' with the sayings on it is new from EK - part of their smash book collection (not out yet - got the tape at CHA!!) but its the perfect color to match the paper and thickers! Pretty simple layout embellishment wise for me!

Tonight is Alain's last hockey game for the season (yay!) so I am going to watch with a few of our friends. Then attempt to make some chocolate cupcakes for a co-workers birthday tomorrow. I haven't made them in so long - so I hope they turn out well! Hope you have a great day!

The one with a Butterfly Garden

Sorry I have been so MIA the past few weeks. Golf season has started --- Did you watch the Masters?!! --- and the course opened so we have been out playing any chance we can get. It's also getting to be wedding season - which means that I have been busy with lots of invites!

In between work, golf, invites, working out, sleeping.... I have managed to fit in a couple layouts. This month I got some Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden and its just so beautiful! It was hard for me to cut up any of the pages.

I found this old Polaroid of my Dad and I circa 1983. It was taken at Storybook Gardens in London, Ontario. We used to go there a lot as a kid... and I am sure its changed so much since then!
Some close up details of the flowers - had these in my stash for a while so I was happy to use them (Maya Road)
Did a little stamping and embossing on the mini envelope (Melissa Francis)! The leaves were white and I misted and inked them (Prima). Love how they turned out.

In other news- Maya is super cute - but driving us crazy! If you know of any way to get her to STOP peeing on our couch I could use any advice at this point. I have no idea why and its so random too. The littler is clean and she didn't do it for two weeks then again this morning. Good thing she is soooo cute.

I tried to get a picture of the two cats together but Maya was too interested in the camera!! lol.

If you havn't check out the sales over at Catch the Moments you need to get over there. She is clearing out all of her stock - tons of brand new product on clearance!! I am talking about new Crate Paper buttons and paper and banner stickers, new prima too!! Check it before its all gone!!

Hope you have a great day!

The one wtih no Mojo...

Maybe its because we got a glimpse of warm weather.... or because the golf course is open now...or because I have been busy with invitation orders...but I have been lacking in motivation and inspiration to get scrapping! I love the Timeless line from Kaiser Craft and was very happy to get it in my kit last month from Scrappy Chic. I just didn't know what I wanted to do with it. I sat down three different times to work on it... but then ended up doing something else. So Tuesday night I made myself sit and work.... and I am glad I did :)

Wednesday night I went over to Scrappy Chic and picked up my new kit and drop this layout off.... but I forgot to photograph it!!!! - So I took this picture in the store (Sorry its not the best quality!). I tried to keep is simple and I really like how it turned out. Its hard to see but along the side it has definitions of words like - love, happy, bliss, journey - cut out from one of the new papers... love the dictionary look!!

I can't wait now to get started on my new kit! I got one of the new Pink Paislee lines and bought Soiree and Daily Junque - love it.

Hope you have a great weekend - hopefully the weather will clear up and I can get out and golf - if not I will be cleaning and scrapping this weekend :)

The one with a Video!

I am going to try and post a video of my crazy, funny, cutie pie Maya! She is obsessed with my husband's pillow..... I know its weird. So I thought I would take a movie of it and share it with you all..... its not the best quality... but she is still so cute its worth a quick view :)
I will say that Alain has a weird pillow that has a compartment for water in the bottom. It was recommended by his chiropractor.... so I think Maya knows there is something in there and wants to get it out!!

In scrapbooking news - new kits are in at Scrappy Chic and I am on my way tonight to pick it up! I can't wait to see what I got! Plus all the new Pink Paislee is in.... hopefully there is some left for me :) I have another layout to share for this month.... yet to be photographed so hopefully tomorrow.

Have a great day!
