The one with 2 cards

Happy Thursday everyone :) lol.... I am just excited for the weekend to get here fast!
I have lots of fun things planned. Girls night with my high school friends on Friday at my favorite restaurant, Curling again with Alain's work Saturday afternoon and Dinner and dancing Saturday night for my friend Josie's 30th birthday! I'm sure I will be very tired come Sunday :)

So its been a while since I made cards.... I think its because I get carded-out around October when I have a million birthdays in the family!

Since I had a bunch of scraps left over from my last page just lying on my desk I figured it would be a good opportunity to make a boy card!

My goal was to make something that I could give to a boy of any age. Used some 3 Bugs in a Rug paper scraps and banner sticker with the BoBunny dotted paper as my card backdrop.

For my second card I wanted to use some of the embellishments I got in my last two kits but was not able to use since they didn't go with my paper! As as added bonus I used KRAFT. Ya I never do that :)
MM butterfly, LYB leaf pins,Kaiser paper and AC ribbon (all leftovers). Used the ribbon to make this really cool flower. I am dying for glubers to hit the store.... so in the mean time I had to improvise for this one! I really like how it turned out.

Both of these will be over at Scrappy Chic tonight - pending no more SNOW!!!! I will be heading there to scoop up lots of new products that have come in since Sunday. Its like Christmas this time of year!

Have a great day....

The one with 3 bugs

3 Bugs in a Rug paper that is :)
This month our kits for Scrappy Chic were not big.....but just wait til next month! Already so much stuff had come in from CHA. There are three super cute lines from 3 Bugs... this one I used is called Dawson.
I had a lot of fun working with this paper. It is geared toward kids pictures... but the basics of blue, green and orange can work with a lot of things. The stars would be great for sports pages as well. I love blue and orange together too!

I pulled out an old pictures from when I was young. That is me and my little brother Andrew (yes I know I had a boy's hair cut... I guess it was 'in' at the time!). Since I didn't have a lot of embellishments to match and I still wanted to get some dimension to the page, I opted to use some cut outs and lots of pop dots!
Its hard to tell in the first image. Hopefully this one can show what I did. I cut out some of the squares in the background and popped them up. Then I popped up the whole mat/journal area on dots as well. Added a little bit of hand cutting (stars) and some drawn on stitching around the edges. Super cute effect!
Now back to my scrapbook room.... I want to take advantage of my day off!

The one with some Sweetness

What is going on with this weather! This morning I headed over to Scrappy Chic for the yard sale, grabbed a quick lunch and went into Home Goods... when I came out there was two inches of snow! It took over an hour to get home (should have been about 30mins).

So now I am safely at home I thought I would share a couple layouts I made this week with me kit from Catch the Moments! Lots of Pink Paislee Sweetness ---

As usual... being silly one night shopping in Downtown Disney! Love the yellow and pink mix in this line.

Next up.... Me with Nicole Harper (from Studio Calico and Two Peas!) and Chris (the owner of Scrappy Chic) at CHA. It was so nice meeting Nicole... she is super sweet in person too :) I didn't know but she shops at Chris' store......hence the title of Chic Chick!

I know I used the same paper for the background... that was not on purpose! lol. I don't mind too much since these pages won't be next to each other in my album anyway. Love the way they both turned out :)
Check out the new kits and products over at the Catch the Moments Esty shop... new prima, thickers and AC in stock!!!
Since it doesn't look like this snow will be stopping anytime soon.... I will be hiding out in my scrap room for the rest of the weekend - Its a long weekend here in Ontario, Canada (Family Day!) so I have tomorrow off. yay!
Hope you are having a great weekend,

The one with a sleepy cat

Last night I was working on a layout for the Catch the Moments design team.... I went went to change the loads of laundry and this is what I found when I came back!
Babe - asleep on my chair! She is sooo cute :)
She loves sitting with me where ever I am in the house.... especially when I'm scrapping. I have two of the same chairs in my office mostly because I have to have somewhere for her to sit. She never goes on the desk and won't sit in the cozy cat bed I have for her.... she needs her own chair!

If you haven't check out the Scrappy Chic blog you may have missed this....
Our new/old design team :)
From left to right.... Angela, Tina, Me, Fawn and Lisa! It was so fun meeting up with them last Friday. We have a really fun group of girls and plan to get together for some crops - hopefully soon!

I have lots of fun thins planned this weekend and also some time to scrap! Saturday we are going curling - our first of three curling weekends in a row! This weekend is with some friends and my in-laws, next weekend with Alain's work and the weekend after that with friends from my old work! We will be pros soon enough :) It really is a lot of fun and a great work out!!!

Tonight I am getting ready to watch Grey's..... but first I have to price the last of my stuff for the yard sale this Sunday! Hope to see you there!!

The one with some more hopscotch!

Can I just say how perfect this line goes with pictures of us eating ice cream! lol

Beaches n Cream is our favorite spot in Disney World. We used to stay at the Beach Club every Christmas and eat breakfast here each day. Its the cutest little 50s style diner! This year we opted for a small dinner and a BIG dessert!

Its hard to tell in this picture but we got a sundae that had 12 scoops of ice cream, cookies, brownies, cake, every topping under the sun, lots of cherries and a whole can of whipped cream! So yummy! If you ever go to Disney you have to go here :)

This was day 4 of our trip - each day we got someone in the family holding up the number of fingers for that day. Dorky I know :)
Some fun news about the blog for Scrappy Chic - The design team will now be posting on the blog! I think this will be really fun and the blog will be more than just about the new products coming out.... you will see them being used as well! So be sure to bookmark it and check it out - coming soon!!!!

The one with a Calendar!

At CHA summer 2010 I fell in love with these calendars! I had no idea at first what I would do with them.... thought maybe a mini 365 project... or a monthly recap project.

Here is what I came up with.... a recap of our week in Disney World!
I used the BG hopscotch line - papers, letter stickers and pieces. The flowers are hand cut from one of the papers in the line. Just added some pop dots and buttons from my stash!

I think this is one of the easiest, quickest pages I have done in a while.... and now its also at the top of my list of favorites. I think I will be buying up some more of this calendar paper for future vacation recap pages.
This is currently hanging up over at Scrappy Chic :)
Also - don't forget about the YARD SALE this weekend. Its Sunday the 20th from 12-5! So many great deals there.... and an excuse to check out the new products in the store too ;)
Happy Valentines Day!!!

The one with some Kaiser and WeR

I have been a bad blogger since I got back from CHA!

Although I have not been posting, I have had time to create a few layouts with my kit from Scrappy Chic! This one is a composition of all the fun things we did at Hollywood Studios.
I used a We R Memory Keepers - Ring Albums made easy Page protector for this project!
The page holds 8 3x3 pictures and 1 6x12. Since I am usually a one photo 5x7 scrapper I like the idea of getting lots of pictures on one page and still having some room to create. (Be aware of the slot sizes when cutting your papers and photos - they are NOT true to size!!!)

Used Kaiser Craft paper and tickets, OA mini market stickers, BG bloomer and pieces from the wander line.
Its hard to see but I added some embellishments on the outside of the page protector as well! The 'pass go' element , bloomer and chipboard arrows are all on the outside. I was sure to only add adhesive to certain places to allow me to add more pictures/elements on the other side of the page in the future!
In some other fun scrappy news I got to meet up with the girls of the DT last night. We had lots of fun chatting and shopping for new products. I think we ALL got some of the LYB twig line... definitely a favorite of everyone! Turns out that one of the other DT girls is Canadian too... and lives two blocks from me.... and I know her from the scrapbook store we used to have here in Windsor (closed a couple years ago!). It was really nice to catch up with her!
Today I have NO PLANS!! yeah!! So I am in my scrapbook room just playing :)
Tonight we are going to dinner with my brother and Jess for Valentines at a really cool local restaurant - Vito's!!! Very excited for that!
Hope you all have a great Valentines weekend - Any special plans????

The one with a favor to ask :)

Good Monday morning to everyone!!!! I have a favor to ask of you. Its not going to be hard... but you do have to have Facebook.

My friend Mary over at Scrappy Chic has worked very hard to make this super cute display for the We R Memory Keepers Love contest!
She made the paper rings and cupcakes from the paper in the line! Very creative :)
If you would vote for the store's display we will win a bunch of very cool prizes for the store and customers too!
All you have to do is Vote Here! By clicking the 'like' button and adding a comment!!!
Since I am just about the only person under 30 that does not have facebook (whole other story for another time!!) ... I am doing my part for the store to get as many votes as possible!! Thank you so much to those who will vote!!!

The one with a recap!

Its been so crazy since I got back from CHA! Thought I would pop on to show you some more show photos and recap from our last day at the show. Later this week I will have some new layouts to show you!

First I have a bit of good news! I was asked back for a second term on the Design Team over at Scrappy Chic :) Yay! I will get to work with Angela and Fawn again... plus two new member... one of which is Canadian as well! Looking forward to meeting the new girls!

The Prima booth was awesome as usual! Always such great inspiration. You will have to check out all the great stuff that we got for the sore. Here is an assortment of their neutrals. I can see myself glimmer misting these for sure...
I saw Suede again at the show... this time he was there with Simplicity - he has new sewing patterns that he designed. Also he switched his hair to blue for this show!

Placed a big order with Maya Road - love their stuff. Chris got this tea pot mini album just for me ;) I think I have said before how much I love and drink tea, so she got the album for tea lovers like me! Very excited to do something fun with it. Also, look out for the Maya Road zippers coming to the store... very cool!
After the show we had to run back to the hotel and re-pack all of our luggage. We got so much stuff at the show that we had to FedEx back 4 boxes of stuff! Mine and Chris' luggage were way over the limit and had to spend time trying to figure out what we could carry on and ship back. All this while everyone in the lobby of the hotel looked on! They must have thought we were crazy!
We finally made it to the Airport..... which was very much under construction as you can see from the background of this pic....
I think we were all so tired at this point we were looking forward to getting some sleep on the plane!
