In my last kit from Scrappy Chic I got the new Birthday line Hip Hooray from MME! Since I didn't have any birthday pics to scrap I mixed it up with some of the new MME Lime Twist collection. That is one of my favorite things about MME - a lot of their lines complement other lines so you can use your old stash and keep it fresh with the newer product!
The paper is from Hip Hooray line, the journal card, letter stickers and star stickers are Lime twist line. The photos are of my brother Sean and I at a local carnival that happens every summer down at the riverfront.
I was inspired by Fawn's layout over on the Scrappy Chic blog to make these folded flowers. I tried to do it myself.... and then I went and bough the Tim Holtz die - so.much.easier!
And just for fun..... Here is Maya literally hangin' out in the mailbox :) Silly girl!
This weekend I have tons of things planned... and I hope that I can fit them all in! My work down at the riverfront is winding down so I may have to work on Saturday... but hope to fit in some golf and scrapbooking as well. Also, we didn't get to celebrate Father's Day with my father in law last weekend so we will be planning that as well.
Hope you have a great weekend!

The one with Simple Stories
I hope you all are enjoying summer as much as Miss Maya is......
She loves to be outside but is a little too young yet to me out there on her own. I put her up on the window ledge when I was gardening a few weeks ago and she loved smelling the flowers and watching all the birds from outside the window!

I finally got some time to scrap over the weekend!! I was so excited to get my kit from Scrappy Chic this month - But then when I got home I remembered that my computer was out for repair --- will ALL my photos on it!!!!! So I decided to scrap some more photos from my childhood!
I used this great line from Simple Stories. It has great colors for summer and I thought they worked well with a vintag-y feeling I wanted for these photos from 1983.
I made a little cluster of embellishments - the hearts are BG chipboard pieces I covered in paper (a technique I haven't done in a while!!). Love the scale of the hearts. Added some ribbon and flowers too. The clouds are had cut and inked in a soft blue.
For those who read the previous post - Angela was correct about the Friends reference! Monica has a secret closet that she keeps all of her stuff in and its a messy closet with everything Smashed in :) Did I mention that I am a little bit of a Friends fan?....lol.
Hope you have a great week... and that the weekend comes quickly!!!

The one with me getting Smashed!!!
I finally got my hands on some of the new Smashbook supplies!!! Yay!!!! Here is what I worked on last night.....
I picked the pretty pink book. I think I want to try out different colors. This one will be for my everyday life things. I think I want to get the black one as well just for scrapbook inspirations!

The first page... added the pocket for things I will use to Smash!
On the next page its a super cute saying in the middle... I added some of my favorite quotes and explain what the book is about.... this one above from my favorite show every - Friends. There is no doubt that I AM Monica :)
(Bonus points for who knows what Monica was talking about when she said the quote!!!!)

For tickets and things I want to keep but have no pictures to go with them. (No pictures!!! Crazy I know!!)
Starting to Smash !! I decided that I am going to let go... just a little... and NOT have to have the book in chronological order (shock!!! - I know - me too!!) So I am going to add and make pages as it comes to me.... and when the page design fits.
Here is my favorite page so far. Talking about my CHA experiences, photos, sticker and badges!
Skip ahead a few pages.... and I started an area for some images that I have been collection for my dream home. I added a BG office tab to the side with the word home so I will be able to find it and add to it.
So are you Smashing?????????
So I know that I should have done some real scrapbook pages last night. I have a couple lines I need to work with for the Scrappy Chic design team.... but I was having so much fun Smashing!!! If you want to get your hands on some you better hurry over to Scrappy Chic - they already sold out once and who knows when they will be in stock again!
Have a great weekend.

The one with my view
Wow - I can't believe how I have neglected my poor blog for so long. This past month has been filled with so many crazy things - house, car, health, work, birthdays - Seems like things just go along smooth for a while and then when you least expect it everything goes upside down at once.
Needless to say that my scrapping has been the thing that has suffered the most. I did make one layout last weekend that I need to put some finishing touches on and then I will share it. Also, I will be getting my new kit from Scrappy Chic to play with this weekend :)
I have been working some long hours out of the office on the jobsite.... so I thought I would share my new view with you.....
Have a great weekend,

Yes I am working down at the Windsor riverfront and looking over at the Detroit skyline all day! Well maybe not all day - but it sure looks like a nice city from this side of the river :)
I hope to share some new scrappy stuff with you soon!
Have a great weekend,
