The one with some Oxford

A couple weeks ago I picked up my kit from Scrappy Chic and was sooo excited that I got this line. Its one of those lines that I wouldn't pick out for myself but did want to try it out. At first I was going to go super non traditional and do a non school layout.... but then I remembered this photo!!! It was perfect (though the colors look a little blown out in the photo its better in real life)
A little peek of my favorite part.... I challenged myself to use a circle on my layout and I really like the results. I think this is something I will be using more often now!
Angela recommended this great circle cutting tool....and under $10 for a cool tool I figured it was worth a try... I too will recommend it now :)

Tonight after work I zipped over to Scrappy Chic to drop off my layouts... I had a fun chat with their newest girl - another Liz! I did a little more shopping than I planned too. A bunch of the new Smash stuff was in stock and I had my pick of it all. I got the calendar pockets and some tabs too. If you are looking for some of the books she had about 10 out on the shelf!!!!

I finally got my hands on some of the Authentique paper and embellishments - so cute and love the quality. Reminds me a lot of MME!

So glad that I have no plans this week so I can start playing with all my new fun stuff :)

Funny you should say that it reminds you of MME as the current owner of Authentique used to own MME with his wife - then he cheated on her, seperated and started Authentique with his mistress-turned-wife.

Just wait until the holiday Authentique lines hit the shelves -- Halloween and Christmas are both amazing!
I love this layout -- you really rock the vibrant colors here! (as well as that dang Jenni B. card...) Love the circle, too -- I'm glad the circle cutter is working for you!

Authentique is definitely a lot like MME. I love these new papers they came out with. I need to post pictures on my blog of the gorgeous stuff I made with their fabulous papers. Love you layout btw! I never use those circle cutters I have. Inspired now ;)

Great layout - love the papers. I can't wait to see the new Smash stuff in person - you are lucky to have gotten your hands on it so fast! :)

I have that circle cutter - but I have the OLD one from WAY back in the day when it was made by plain old EK Success - and it is green and purple. The cutter is shaped like an actual pen - not the little pear shaped thing it is now, so I think it is easier to cut with. But I have had it at LEAST 10 years, still use it all the time. :)

I'm new to your blog. I've been looking around and I like your pages. Very cute!

It's unfortunate that the original anonymous commenter is right. There was a sordid affair between Brett & Stephanie from Authentique while he was still married to the owner of MME. They are not nice people at all. And the way they treated Margie Romney-Aslett was despicable...

I look forward to seeing more of your work. I just really hope it doesn't include an awful lot of Authentique stuff.
