The one circa 1989....

Wow... I have been MIA for a while!
Going out of town this weekend. Heading up to a friend's cottage in Northern Michigan! Should be a fun little trip. Just thought I would pop in and show some layouts that I have been working on.

This one is the new BoBunny winter/Christmas line! Thought it went perfect with my purple snowsuit. These were taken on my first ever ski trip.
That's the new Pink Paislee ribbon trim there :) love it. Some pearls from Zva and glimmer misted snowflake from LYB! This will be up at Scrappy Chic soon!

This next one was all just for fun. More pictures of little me :) New Crate Paper line (school spirit I think!) Really love the colors in this.

Funny thing is that in these pictures I am wearing the sweatshirt that I got at Boyne mountain when I was skiing there :)

Hope you have a great weekend!

The one with some Cards

Wanted to start out will a little brag first!!!..... I submitted some projects to the new BG Gallery and they were chosen to be put up! One of them (my design journal) is on the first page right now :)

Also, I wanted to share some of the cards that I made last weekend!

This first one is REALLY different for me! Its the first time that I have done any paper piecing. I was asked to make a card for a couple who are getting married on the pirate ship in front of Treasure Island hotel in Vegas.....I was kinda scared at first since I had no idea what I would do.

Cute and different... not too wedding-ish.... but then again they are not having a typical wedding... so I hope they like it!

The next two cards are both made with 100% Momenta products!

Quick and easy birthday cards :)

Tonight I think I am going to head over to Scrappy Chic to drop off my last two layouts and pick up my new kit. I was thinking maybe to stay and crop as well....I will have to call and see if there are any openings for me!

Hope you have lots of fun stuff planned for the long weekend..... Oh ya - Its Canadian Thanksgiving weekend for those who don't know! Long weekend yeah!
The weather is suppose to be beautiful here as well... 70s and sunny. Sounds like Golf weather to me :)

The one with Crate Paper

You know when you build something up in your mind.... your waiting for it... and then it happens.... you want it to be sooo perfect! Well I was that way about the line from Crate Paper. Silly I know.... its just paper! But it was by far my most favorite release this CHA. I have had so many ideas and I wanted to do the paper justice!

So here is what I came up with. Its my first with this line... and it won't be my last! Since its been so gloomy here, its been hard to get a good picture of the layout... so this is the best I could do.

As soon as I saw this trim from Making Memories I knew what I wanted to do with it. I really like how it tuned out as well. I also used some vintage actions of the photos to make them look older and grungier (is that a word?) to match the feeling of the papers. The embellishment in the bottom corner looks like a ships wheel to me.... and how fitting that these pics were taken on a boat! lol.

Used a super old Maya Road word title here... inked it then added some glossy accents over the top. Turned out really well!

Got an e-mail from Angela yesterday that our design team kits are ready over at Scrappy Chic! I really can't wait to go get it. All the new Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology collection came in.... and I need it ALL! I hope to pop over sometime this weekend before its all scooped up :)
(Mary or Cindy... please save me some of the ruffled darling ribbon and the fabric flower darlings!!!!)

The one with 2 for 1

I often like to start out with some kind of sketch when I sit down and start a page. Sometimes its my own, sometimes its a layout in a magazine or from PageMaps. This time it was my own doodle that I used.

Kinda simple but I didn't want too much going on with all the bold patterns here. Also, as I said before, Christmas is hard for me to scrapbook for some reason! Anyway.... here is what I came up with.....

Used the new Dear Lizzy Christmas line of paper - the snowflakes are super old.... but just happen to match perfect with the colors of the paper. Feels good to use up some older stash as well! This will be up over at Scrappy Chic soon.

I was on a roll Saturday busting out the layout..... and I used the same sketch again for a totally different layout. I like that they don't seem to be the same but really are. I guess I was cheating ....I figure they won't be near each other in my scrapbook so its ok :)

This layout is for my Momenta design team. I think its one of my favorites right now. Mostly because of the picture of me when I was little... eating freezies with my cousin! So cute :)

Got both of these done pretty quickly... under an hour each (a record for me!)

Have a great day!

The one with some Glimmer Mist

I am sharing another one of my Scrappy Chic design team layouts today. This is one of those ones that I was really excited with the outcome... probably more because this is not paper I would pick myself. Thanks to Angela for making me step out of my comfort zone :)

This is the Cosmo Cricket Pixies line. The purple and orange worked great for these pictures of Noemie!
That purple ribbon across the page there.... well that is my favorite part. It also started a little obsession for me. I have been glimmer misting crazy this week!
This ribbon was originally white. I twas too stark for the layout.... and then I had an idea to mist it. At first I looked at it and thought.... 'oh well it was a good idea, but looks like crap'... 15 mins later after it dried I LOVED it!

So off to Scrappy Chic I went and bought as many white trims as I could find.... and some new glimmer mist colors as well! Here are some of the samples I was playing with.
The chalk mist (grey one) didn't turn out as well as the regular glimmer ones. It needed a lot longer to dry than the others. But that could have been because of the sheer fabric. Once it was all dry I love how it turned out!

And since the first time I did it I thought it looked like crap... I thought I would show you what it looks like when I first sprayed it.....
Globs of colors and spots, not a uniform color and much darker than I wanted. But when it dries it looks amazing! So don't worry :)

Now I don't want to take all the credit.... I first saw the idea at the Tim Holtz booth at CHA. This is the display showing all his new colors.... and yes its all the same white ribbon just sprayed!

They were so beautiful hanging there you just had to touch them!
Oh and ya I can't wait for his new ribbon line to come in... its a package with 4-3 white trims!! They are definitely on my wish list!

The one with some Pyrus

Thought I would pop in to share another layout that will be hanging at Scrappy Chic soon. Also one of the paper lines that I was dying to get my hands on since CHA! Its BG Pyrus :)

Love the fall, earthy colors in this line. These pictures are from our recent trip to Peterborough. Although it was summer.... it sure felt and looked like fall up there. The leaves were already starting to change and the air was cooler.

Yesterday we had planned to work on a paver walkway around our house.... but it rained... so I got to scrap ALL DAY! Jess came over and I think we had our most productive scrap session ever! I got 5 layouts and 3 cards done. Bring World Card Making day yesterday I had to make some cards. I will have lots to share this week!!!!

Today its beautiful... so Alain and my father in law and a friend are busting out the paver walkway! I am in charge of design, bringing food and beverages, and running out for things they forgot! lol. (I will post some pics when its done!)

Hope your having a great weekend too!

The one with a cat in a bag

Yup, literally... thats my cat, Babe, hanging out in a Panara bread bag. I had it sitting in the corner, filled with some other plastic bags and for some reason she tipped it over and made herself a little fort. Silly kitty!

Used the new Pebbles Cat line. Its modern and fun! I went a little overboard with the patterns on this one :) Its an interesting color combo - Mint green, orange and brown with hot pink. I guess it goes to show you that almost any combo an work! lol.

This second layout has some pictures of little me!! This is me at 2 years old going out for Halloween. I was little red riding hood... but the plastic face mask looks a lot like Snow White to me! lol.
This line form WeR is really a fall line.... but I didn't have any fall pictures and the black/orange made it feel a little more Halloween like to me. Loving the mini Jenni Bowlin letters!!! At the bottom of the green paper I created a stencil by using the felt trim I got in my kit. Turned out ok for my first try!

Well this week has just flown by... I really can't believe its Friday already!
Hope you have a great weekend!
