The one with CHA day 2!

Better late than never! Can't believe its already the last day of the show!
Here are some of the highlights from yesterday....

Crate Paper.... my favorite of the show! Love all the lines. For the local girls - we got the entire set of the first three lines and just a little from the neighborhood line.

Close up of the borders and stickers from the ToyBox line.... great boy line for any age!

New Sizzix dies... love the banner of course!

Some inspiration....
Spellbindres gear dies! Very cool....
Kaiser Craft.... Lots of great new stuff coming from them.... a school line, cooking line, purple princess line.... and this is my fave....pink, green and brown!
Pics from the DCWV booth. Took them almost 4 months so make these... sorry for the sideways pic... not sure what up with that... :)
Banner from Fancy Pants... got this line. Very cool retro colors with a modern twist.
It wasn't all work..... Fawn and I being silly....

Got to meet some great scrapbookers that I admire! Kelly Purkey at the Studio Calico booth (so nice to meet you Kelly!!) She is super sweet!
Nicole Harper.... she is so nice! Didn't know that she shops at Scrappy Chic! Got to chit chat with her for a while.
Elizabeth Kartchner.... she is always so nice... Couldn't believe that she remembered me from the last show! She was there with her husband and cutie little baby Lola!

For even more pics of the day head over to the Scrappy Chic blog!
Now I have to get ready to place LOTS of orders..... wish me luck getting back into Detroit... I hear there is going to be lots of snow coming!!!!

The one with CHA day 1

It was a very long day! These pics are super out of order but I wanted to get something up on the blog tonight!!

Prima Booth pic:
Me with Kelly Goree at the BG booth. She was running the Make n Take.... she was soooo cool :)
Wreath over at Jillibean Soup booth. Very cool - Seems to see a lot of these spools - Jenni Bowlin and Maya Road has them too!
Tim Holtz doing a demo.... all the ladies were crazy here. Hard to get a pic!
From the TH booth:
Pink Paislee.... my favorite of all the releases so far :)

After the show we wen out for Sushi.... it was a blast. Found a really cool little place that you pay by the plate. The food comes around on a conveyor belt and you just pick what you want and pay at the end.

So much fun but now its bedtime!
More to come tomorrow .... and lots when i get back too :)

The one with the flight!

Yay! We made it!
I say that because we almost didn't!

Let me tell you the adventure we had last night!
I left work early to make sure I got to Chris' house on time. There was lots of snow coming down and I figured that the roads would be really bad. I was right. At 5:30 we found out that the plane would be delayed about an hour. No problem!

So we just hung out at Chris' for a while and then headed over to the Airport... thats when the adventure started! The roads were REALLY slow and we were pushing it for time as it was. We rushed over to check it.... but we got an error message : You are too LATE to check in for your
flight!!! AHHHH.. panic!

Got an attendant over right away to help. She said our bags would not make he flight but she had two seats left. Out bags would come THE NEXT NIGHT! So we ran through security... and literally RAN to the gate just in time to board! Poor Fawn was waiting there since 6:00.
Once we got on the plane we realized that we got the last two seats on the plane and were bumped up to first class! We were laughing so hard about our luck..... but so excited to have the BIG cushy seats.

The flight was great but the whole time I was wondering if we were going to have our luggage or not. We were making a list of what we would need to buy when we land. Once we landed and got to the luggage area we walked over and out bags were the first ones out!!! Lots of celebrating in the airport.... I don't think anyone has ever been so happy to see their luggage :)

So that was last night... check out what we did today over on the Scrappy Chic blog! Plus.... we got the exclusive first photos of the CHA floor if you want to see it.......
Today it was so beautiful - not like the snow and below zero weather we left! So enjoying the SUN!

Check back tomorrow for lots of show pics.... I can't wait!!

The one with some Curio

I'm all packed up and ready to go...... to CHA!!!
We are flying out tonight and I am sooooooo excited :) This time around I am bringing my laptop and my cameras are fully charged. I hope to be able to post pictures of the show while I am there.

Thought I would share a couple more layouts today I made with my kit from Catch the Moments! Used the Curio line for both these layouts.... both with very different feels.
This first one is from my brothers wedding....

Loved the teal and peachyorange combo on this one!

This next one is from Disney. Trying to get my brother to smile in a picture is a hard thing. And he never wants to act goofy (how are we related ;) lol). He loves Coke in a bottle so we had to get him next to this giant bottle at Hollywood Studios!

Hope you are having a great week and enjoying all the fun peeks out there! I will share all the CHA show fun with you so check back! Have a great weekend :)

The one with a Classic

Good Morning!
Thought I would share a layout I created for Catch The Moments design team. Used lots of AC here! The paper is AC Classics, tickets and journal paper is Dear Lizzy. The rose ribbon trim and rubon letter are also AC.
Don't mind too much how bad this pic is.... seems like the sun only comes out when I am at work ;)

The 'Cherish' letters are BG, buttons are Jenni Bowlin. The die cut floral is KandCo - it was beige so I inked it to contrast more with my paper.
This frame is Melissa Francis -I have had for a while now and just haven't had the right place to use it! Thought it was perfect to frame this picture of me and my grandmother.

If you are looking for some good deals check out the kits over at CTM!! Lots of sales going on for CHA this weekend as well :)

The one with WOYWW.... a bit late!

This week I wanted to participate in WOYWW (Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday).... but I am a bit late. This is what my desk looked like on Wednesday.....

Working on a layout for Scrappy Chic with some new BG Hopscotch. Didn't think I was really into this line til I started to play with it. So loving it now!!!!

Also in the corner you can see a pile of ribbon there????? Yes well I am purging my ribbon pile BIG TIME for the upcoming Yard Sale!!!!!
Here are the piles.....
Mostly AC ribbon and a bunch of random stuff I collected over the years! I now have them sorted by color in little baggies ready for their new homes :)

The funny thing about this purge is I thought it would give me more room for NEW ribbon.... but then I realized that I have been keeping my new-ish ribbon on the desk in a basket and when I added that ribbon to my collection.... I was all filled up again! I think I have a ribbon problem :)

You can see here how I store my ribbon!!!!

Have a great weekend!!!

The one with some Vintage

I think I have said it before.... but Angela loves to challenge me :) Usually when I open my kit there is one line that I really have no idea what I will do with - something I would never pick for myself if I was shopping! But for some reason at the end of the month the layout with that paper turn out to be my favorites.... or at least ones that I am super proud of because in my own mind I broke out of my safe box.

This is one of *those* layouts! Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934. This paper to me is so Angela... but I have a feeling that she bought the whole pack of this one ;)
A couple weeks ago my mom found an old photo album filled with some really great pictures! This is one of them. My mom when she was 23 years old! She was in Holland with my grandparents visiting our family there.
The picture is from the late 70's but I think this paper still goes well with it! So I challenge you to scrap something out of your comfort zone... you never know what will happen :)

The one with some Stamps

Hope you all had a good weekend! I can't believe its already Tuesday!
None of my weekend plans turned out like I planned.... I didn't make it to the crop on Saturday with Angela and Mary :( I was really looking forward to it. Instead I stayed on the couch most of the day not feeling very well.

I did manage to get some scrapping in later that night. I am way behind on my DT layouts so I needed to get them done. Felt a lot better Sunday so I headed over to Scrappy Chic!!!
I dropped off my layouts, picked up my new kit.. (which I LOVE... thanks Angela!!) and did some shopping. Its so hard to shop before CHA. I know there is so much great stuff coming soon!

Here is one of the layouts I made with Webster's Pages:
Old school photo here of me and my brother Sean. Pretty simple layout.... but I used STAMPS :) I never use them.... I don't own very many because I know I won't use them.... but now I am starting to think I need some more! The Scrappy Chic yard sale is coming up soon.... might be a great place to scoop some up for cheap :)

Speaking of the yard sale.... its going to be held on Feb.20th and I already can't wait. I have a HUGE pile of stuff to sell this time around. Always lots of great deals there too!!

Off to bed now...

The one with some Marjolaine...

When I saw this line at CHA I was very excited. I like lines that can be used for anything. This is marketed as a 'friendship' line but you could use it for almost anything. Also like that although there are flowers... its still great for guy layouts.

So what did I end up using it for??? .... Friend layouts :)

Another Disney Pic (yes it was cold and so I am wearing the same jacket and scarf in *every* picture... I hate that!) Oh well. Jess and I being goofy as we are decided that we should get someone from the family to do a picture for each day of the trip. We were day 2!
(I can't show you day 1 picture because Alain and Andrew thought it would be funny to use an inappropriate finger as their '1'!)

This second layout uses the same line with a Disney photo booth picture strip! We just finished eating a ton of ice cream before these were taken. Nuf said :)

The lighting on this second one is horrid.... we need more sun!!! It doesn't look this weird in real life!! :)

I am planning on attending crop at Scrappy Chic this weekend with Angela and Marry. They both signed up for the scrapbook league.... they are brave... I know any team would kick me off since I am the slowest scrapbooker *ever* and the league depends on how many layouts you produce! Angela will kick butt!!!

I have not been to Saturday crop before but I think it will be fun. I feel like its been forever since I have been in the store! Hope to see you there --- and hopefully we will not get anymore snow... I am stick of it! :)

Hope your having a great week so far!

The one with a Happy New Year!

Happy (belated!) New Year to All!

I know I have been MIA for almost a month. I wanted to enjoy my holidays and things were getting so busy that something had to give... and it was my blog. But now I'm back and super motivated to do some scrapping again. Especially with CHA right around the corner!

So what have I been up to? Well we had a wonderful Christmas and then on the 26th flew out to Disney World with my whole family. It was sooo much fun! We wish it would have been a little warmer though.......
My mom and Jess trying on cute hats....
The first night we had to walk through each store at Downtown Disney to keep warm on the way back to the hotel!!!

The second day was not as cold.... we headed over to MGM... or Hollywood Studios :)
Being goofy on the way in to the Muppet's 3D show.....
The 29th we went to Epcot. It was a beautiful day....
Went for lunch in Japan and got pearls.....
Playing mini putt on our last day.... so much warmer! It was girls against boys.... i think we won! The Disney course is suppose to be the hardest mini putt in the whole world! Crazy but fun :)
Just a few pics from our trip! I'm sure you will see a hundred more since I will be scrapping all the fun memories.....
Like this one.....

Alain and I waiting in line for a ride. When I get bored I take pictures :)
Used the We R Memory Keepers valentines line here.... love the KI 'Love' word too! I have been dying to use these!!

More layouts to come this week. I had a girls scrapbook night on Saturday and got a couple more pages done. Makes it so easy when I have a kit to use!!

Speaking of kits :) Catch the Moments has some really great and inexpensive kits if you are looking to scrap your holiday pics... or maybe get your hands on some Pink Paislee for a great deal! Devon (the owner) now has an etsy shop so its sooo much easier to see and order product.
Also, Devon started a new forum to chat about everything scrapbook related.....check it out here. Plus stop by the blog to see all the sales going on each week!

I'm off to bed.... why do Monday's make me so tired???
